This statement was made on the football thread by OldSchool,
"when have we ever had an outstanding track team? Track results don't mean a thing when it comes to football, neither does powerlifting"
Isn't weight training and power lifting was a significant part of the off season program for football?
I did not want to respond to this comment because I do not have the facts but I thought some of you who follow power lifting could respond.
I know I have heard that Bill Parcels say he is a stickler for weight training because he believes it reduces injuries in players.
What are your perspectives on the subject?
