The PN-G performance against Marshall looks even more impressive.

Wow that's a shocking score. I really thought Nederland had a chance. But it sounds like the Bulldogs didn't play well at all - 82 total yards and 4 turnovers. Or maybe we woke up a sleeping giant. Will be interesting to see how Crosby does against FBM next week.

As I mentioned earlier, FBM didn't play a decent team until PN-G and they weren't ready to be tested. FBM is improving every week. The talent and size is there; just late developing it this season due to many graduations over the past 2 years plus Covid this season . Having said that, the overwhelming FBM talent, size, and speed were present against PN-G--how could we give up 60 points to Texas City (a non-playoff team) and play well against a legit state contender? I seem to recall that PN-G didn't handle big backs very well, so maybe that's it.
And, FBM made the plays against PN-G. Like running the play clock down to 1 second and then kicking a 59 yard punt to pin PN-G deep in its territory in the 4th quarter. That's what winners do, and FBM has been the #2 team in Texas the previous 2 years.

All true but I also think PN-G finally woke up and played to their potential against Marshall.

The Indians were the better team during MCM week out coaching and outplaying Nederland for the win, went into a funk for a few weeks, then outplayed FBM in the end. A few plays were the difference in the outcome of that game but it was well within reach.

It was a blessing to be led by QB Blake Bost and other seniors in 2020. With some different results on defense it would have been a much better season.
