With the off season workout program that coach BF has in place, I don't really think to many of them have the energy to go too the gym. These boys work out with weights daily, Do tons of running and conditioning, drills, mat drills, run in the sand box, jump boxes, use weighted jump ropes, do resistance ban running and workouts. They do more in athletics in one day than most would do in 3 days at the gym for now. Now this summer you will see lots of the players in the gyms and up at the school working out.
I would say that PNG's off season workout program rivals that of many college programs. I have seen a whole lot of these boys get stronger and alot faster and quicker because of the off season program. In the school year they have no choice about he workouts, Summer time is when they have a choice, but the coaches are calling each player all the time to make sure they are working out and staying in shape. I will be putting my son into the Power house summer program with Jeremy Davis again this year. He went into 2 a days last year and told me he was doing all the 2 a days and that he was not having any problems because of the shape he was in.
I think if you took boys from other programs and threw them into our off season program they would have a very difficult time keeping up. JMO.
