Congrats to the 1999 team on your 20th year celebration of one of the greatest seasons in PNG football history. You were arguably the most talented team in school history and if not for the majic of Art and Kendall Briles, would have placed the 5th state championship trophy on the school mantle.

It’s tough to comprehend how 20 years have gone by so quickly.

Any ‘99 players who can share some thoughts on that season and how the ceremonies went?

1975 State Champs fairly good too. 6 All Staters 1st team and State Championship as well. 99 3 all staters Both great Qbs - coaches sons both Richey and Long. Both great linebackers Weber and Boudoin - Wilson UT schoolrship Both won 14 games.

Any video of the Friday night experience that celebrated the 1999 team? All of the PN-G teams that made the semis or state championship game are special. To each their own. I'm like Bark. I favor the 1975 PN-G Indians as the all-time best. They have the hardware to prove it. Next, it is a coin flip between 1976 and 1977. Next, is a coin flip between 1999 and 1974. The 1974 Indians were two plays away from a likely state championship. Thanks to David Hodge, that did not happen, but the 1974 Indians were a bunch of hard nose, scrappy, street fighters. Hopefully, someone has video of the celebration of 1999. The '99 team could move the ball when and how it wanted to move the ball...over land or air. It did not matter...they could roll down field. The defense had some bone crunching hitters. Video?

Go Indians. Peace.

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever.  -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
