Reflects the talent from our team!!!
Very good for these kids and parents.

7 on the team is awesome! And makes for a great 2015, with this talent anything less than 3/4 rounds in the playoffs would be a huge let down

Any news on the beginning of the Indoor Facility? Could we use the proposed bond money to help? I would be for it as I am sure all others would be too.

Should be a GREAT 2015 for our team.

With one of the best QB's in our history returning and a load of talent on the offense we should be pretty sharp. It should not take very long to get our O rolling they should start out on fire. Its the defense that will have to be better. If they come up with a defense that is better than last we should be ok for next season.

Great group of guys!!!!! Go Indians
:helmet:
Any of our seniors to be sign early? Morse, Giblin, etc...
There is no signing early for football. If they do get offers they can verbally committ at anytime, but can't actually sign till February 2016.
So rephrased. Are Morse or Giblin receiving any interests or offers?

Morse should see offers from multiple schools.

Barring injuries, he's on track to shatter all PNG passing records. If the Indians can make a deep playoff run in 2015, and potentially make the finals, he will go in the history books as on par, and probably better than Dustin Long.

Thanks for the correction, I guess that is what I intended to say. Am I correct that they commit their jr year and sign the sr. Year -- like the Ozen, Central and WOS guys. I know Thompson WOS took summer classes to grad. At semester Brown did it at Ozen too. Are any of our bunch doing that?

He is really fun to watch much like Long.

However, in my opinion Hawthorne, Falgout and Richy are the best in that they lead their teams to multiple playoff victories and a State Chamionship for each.

It is a different game in the last several years, at all levels, passing stats are being shattered.

Not downplaying the current QBs just saying the only fair measure is the leadership in obtaining the highest championship-- State, Super Bowl or College.

I am sure Morse has these qualities as well. These guys have lots of pressure to produce these next couple of years in terms of beating Ned. WOS, and win a championship.

Morse has a strong arm, can make a lot of throws, sees the field well, and makes good decisions. He would compete with any of those prior QBs.

The really successful teams back in the day had a lot going for them beyond the QB. In the the 50's the Flying Frenchman were the offensive juggernauts of that playoff run.

The 70's was all about overall outstanding teams loaded with talent, and outstanding coaches, and of course Ethridge deserves much credit. QBs always receive the most focus, and he performed well.

The 70s teams also had very good defenses. The 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 teams had potent offenses and good QBs, but couldn't outscore their last opponents. With a little more defense that might have been a heck of a long playoff run and Doty, Walker and Morse would be up on the championship QB pedestals. ;D

Ethridge would probably excel today based on his passing and running ability. And Long is the current standard. But I'd still place my bets on an improved, senior version of Morse being a great one.

Having a current QB who can be mentioned with that list of great PNG QBs is a good problem to have.

Well put, I agree that Morse seems to be very talented. Time will tell if he can go to the next level like Richy and Long ---Tech and A&M.

I still don't know what happened to Doty being snubbed by college offers? His dad payed for him to go to Oregon but didn't catch on there or anywhere else.

Anyone getting looks from colleges?

Again, thanks Indianfan for the prospective on QBs.

All in fun. Not much else to do in the off-season. Let's hope Morse and associates can excel on the field next season.

Comparing teams from yesteryear with today really is an interesting topic. Could those teams with 170 pound linemen and running the power I even compete today? They were machine like in their execution. Could they run with today's high powered offenses and big defenders?

Doty went to Oregon with a young QB in his class named Moryo, Miriot, Mauryot, Mariota. Talk about an up hill battle.

certainly did not intend to compare him to Mariota, just curious as to why colleges did not give him much/any attention.

only 2 PNG QBs that I can think of that went D1 are Long and Ethridge. some of that may have been the network their Dads had with colleges from being long time high school coaches.

just an observation.

We could say that about practically every PNG standout. With few exceptions, they haven't excelled at the next levels, which proved just how elite the big time college and pro talents are.

A few dozen Indian players over the years have stuck with college teams. And maybe a dozen of those guys made a splash in a the large school pool.

Robert Giblin and Mike Simpson made it to the NFL, and Gordon Leboeuf was drafted by the old AFL. Jeff Bergeron, Matt Burnett, and Dustin Long at least got a tryout with the NFL in some form.

Yes you are right, thanks for the input.

Any word on the I.F.? Being $900,000 to a million short, does anyone know if bond money could be used to make up the difference.

It would be nice if it could come to fruition with this group of 10/11 graders as it was their group that donated the two donations that totaled $250,000.
