Apologies

I’d like to offer my apologies to anyone who misconstrued comments I’ve made about football games and performances this season and in the past. On one hand, comments made out of fan frustration are not uncommon for any team at any level. It happens all the time, online and in the stands. I think everyone understands that.

Does that make it acceptable? It depends on your point of view and the exact nature of the statements. The problem is high school players are 14-15-16-17 years old. They are not NCAA or professional players and are not going to play the game to perfection. Not even NFL players have figure out how to accomplish that. So some restraint must be considered and practiced. The problem is that’s easy to forget.

As enthusiastic sports fans we can see the opportunity for play perfection and advancement towards a win. And right or wrong, when a team or team or player doesn’t reach what we perceive as possibility or capability, that comes out as frustration. But there is no intent to overtly criticize an individual player. It’s an abstract criticism of the game that is perceived as personal attacks. This space of high school football is contentious at best in that regard.

Speaking for myself, if I crossed the line and offended anyone, in any way, you have my most sincere apologies. It would never be my intent to upset anyone who is currently living the dream of PN-G football. Every player, every parent should be immensely proud for the effort put forward this season and past. You will continue to have my full support for the remainder of this season and every season beyond. The 2022 PN-G Indians are a well coached, incredible team. This team will leave behind its own legacy when all is said and done. And it will documented for the ages on the fan site just as teams have been from decades in the past. I feel fortunate to witness it. Go Indians.

Well said. It is a fine line when talking about HS Football. But you see it on every site. Especially by serious fans who follow programs year in and year out. We tend to buy into the program long term and sometime you lose site of the fine line you have to walk to discuss your passion for the program.

I stand behind the game analysis mentioned but will refrain out of respect to parents
Nothing wrong with constructive criticism. This is wrong with the past 2 generations. Kids need to learn adversity and parents need to stop babying their kids and let them learn and work harder. Not everyone deserves a participation ribbon. Everything you said has been spot on and totally agree.
