Tear it down...send the bill to Bud Adams...he's the reason Harris County taxpayers still owe $30M on the Astrodome...those rennovations in the late 1980s and early 1990s did not keep the original Oilers in Houston and did nothing more than raise the tax tab of Harris County residents. Tear it down....create more space for parking at Reliant Stadium and over at the Arena and Exhibit Hall.

Agree with others...I've seen lots of great football in the Astrodome...hard to say goodbye, but it's long overdue.

There are some good suggestions for the Astrodome. One suggestion I've heard is to renovate it and use it as the home stadium of the Houston Dynamo (the soccer team). I think that would be a great idea, but that may just be wishful thinking.

I think it's also wishful thinking that they could renovate it for that purpose and preserve its versatility, using it as a venue for the playoffs in high school football, baseball, basketball, softball and soccer.

The City of Houston and Harris County are putting the finishing touches on the Houston Dynamo's new stadium...a soccer-only stadium, which is just across HWY 59 from the Astros' Minute Maid Park [think the south/southeast part of downtown, across HWY 59, as you near the old Maxwell House Coffee factory...or in the neighborhood of the Original Ninfa's].

The other so-called plans for the Astrodome are sinkholes for taxpayer money...casino [need to legalize gambling first], indoor mall [who goes to the mall? buy it online], hotel and convention center [Houston has those already]....

Tear it down and move forward in the 21st century. It's an eyesore...it's full of asbestos...and it stinks like a litter box.
