Balanced Offense

The Indians offense is very well balanced this year. ~1750 yards rushing and ~1750 passing.

The 2022 team has quietly moved into the #10 spot for all-time points per game for a PN-G offense.

Along with 7 Faircloth teams, the ‘71 team featuring Jeff Bergeron and the ‘46 team which is the only undefeated team in PN-G history.

My father in law may be the last living member of the '46 undefeated team. They only lost 1 game in 2 or 3 years, and it was to a high school in Lake Charles, and my FIL says there was no way the refs were going to let them get away from there with a win. Coach McCollum was livid, reportedly. Anyway ...

In case you were wondering, only 16 PN-G teams have won 10 or more games in a season.

The current juniors, that attended Port Neches middle school anyway, went undefeated for 2 seasons in a row; maybe 3. Do they play football in 7th grade? I don't remember .

Used to be 8th and 9th grade for junior high football.

Looks like it's now 7th and 8th grade teams.

The current seniors did it before them. In a more dominating fashion.

When mentioning undefeated seasons, varsity is the context. There have been lots of undefeated middle school/junior high and sub-varsity teams. The best ever in terms of winning were probably the 75-76-77 group of athletes as they played through the system and rarely lost a game.
