BISD wants neutral site

The article implies that they have issues with PNG players and coaches. Wherever they play the game there will be the same PNG players and coaches. So that's a bogus reason.

Also, why is it that the only time such incidences occur at PNG is when a BISD school visits? Maybe the focus should be turned to those visiting teams and they be coached not to instigate or take part in any hijinks. Confrontations occur in sports. All sides can and should learn to deal with it more effectively.

I think it boils down to just not wanting to play in front of a PNG home crowd. Tough. Any team should be allowed to play their home games at home. No questions asked.

Maybe the other team should just stay home and forfeit the game if they have a problem with that.

Thanks for amping up PNG nation even more! We'll be sure to be extra rowdy for the BISD games.

Of course, maybe he is butt-hurt because when we play at the Butch, its basically a home game for PNG as well!

Just watched that soccer game video. Why was their coach arrogantly ignoring the referee? Why is he attempting to walk across the field? What is he saying to the referee and police officer? What is he failing to say to his team as they also walk toward the referee and engaging him verbally? And how is this in any way a valid excuse or reason to punish opposing players and fans by deciding that you don't like to visit that campus?

No special treatment! Play the games home and home like every other team has for decades. Or just forfeit the game if you can't show up and play.

Its too hard to teach your coaches and players about discipline and sportsmanship. Why should he point the finger at his own? Its way easier to just "blame the other guy."

Sounds like a trend with Central soccer teams, at home or away. Just the facts....

BEAUMONT - The UIL is investigating a brawl involving Central High School and Port Neches-Groves High School soccer players.

It broke out at a game Friday night at the Babe Zaharias Memorial Stadium in Beaumont.

A video of the brawl, which has not been released to the public by the Port Neches-Groves school district yet, shows Central High School players starting the fight and punching PN-G players.

PORT NECHES - Cell phone video provided to KFDM shows the moments leading up to, during, and after a confrontation on the field where Central High School was playing Port Neches- Groves High School

PN-G was leading 3-1 with about seven minutes left in Tuesday's game.

The referee gave Central's coach a warning and a short time later, the referees kicked the coach out of the game.

A crowd of soccer players gathered on the field.

Port Neches Police say at least one of Central's soccer players kicked a referee.

And...
Flashback to 2008 football game where Central players were filmed in the process of instigating a brawl including assault of PN-G coaches. BISD, please invest in discipline training rather than proposing money wasted on unnecessary neutral playing sites.

What crybabies! It's quite simple, if you can't handle playing on our field, don't show up! Problem solved.
I bet the UIL laughs in their faces!

BISD, PN-G superintendents come to terms on 'neutral site' request

"Several of our sports teams have had various issues when they go to Port Neches-Groves," said board President Jimmy Simmons during a July 7 board meeting.

It's great that Caveness refused to budge on this. As far as BISD and their board president's statements... BS. Several of your sports teams have had issues at home and away. Nothing to do with PNGISD. Get your house in order by talking to your coaches, players and parents. Criticizing PNG through the media won't do that for you.
