Brenham Season Statistics

Brenham will be the toughest game PN-G has played in 2009 by far. Brenham lost to 5A Houston Lamar early in the season and then again to Waller at the end of the season ... if PN-G makes mistakes, Brenham will capitalize. Like PN-G, Brenham plays a lot of underclassmen. Thus, like PN-G, Brenham should be a very good team against next season. The last time PN-G played at Thorne Stadium in 1987, the Indians were crushed 75-0 by Aldine MacArthur. There are not good memories at Thorne Stadium. Here's to the Indians playing their best game of the season, playing hard, playing fast, having fun, and getting a W to move to 12-0. I doubt PN-G and Brenham will fill-up Thorne Stadium if the end zone areas are open to SRO. With SRO, you can squeeze 14,000 or 15,000 into Thorne Stadium. The huge crowds for PN-G won't turn out until the Regional, Quarters, and Semis. If the Indians roll into the Regional, Quarters, and Semis, then you will need a stadium that holds 30,000 fans. Again, here's to an Indian victory.

Go Indians. Peace.

I must respectfully disagree with your post 1989ndn. PN-G will fill Aldine stadium this Friday vs Brenham. Our fans will fill the seats, the sides, the grass end-zones, standing room areas, and every square inch of that stadium. These fans aren't waiting for the next game, they will turn out for This game and EVERY GAME. Brenham will be overwhelmed by the sea of PURPLE that turns out this Friday. Just show up and see!! :woohoo:

AMEN ! I think we could have more fans at this game than we had with BH ! Looks like both end zones have grass to sit on, that would be great to fill all those areas up as well. Its all in a bowl shape as well, so the sound will bounce around more too. That will make it even louder. This is gonna be a great game with the NDN's comming out on top by 14. Our D will clamp down on Brenham and frustrate them. Our O will start strong and stay strong all game to make a impressive statement to the state ! LETS Cramp the Cubs into a small little corner at Aldine stadium ! I would love to see around 12,000 fans there for PNG ! I got calls yesterday to pick up tickets for several Ned fans who want to go and follow PNG now. I may have to pull my kids out of school early Friday to make it there alittle early. Besides traffic maybe a problem. LETS ROLL TRIBE !!!

You have to excuse 1989NDN. He hasn't caught the High yet! But he will. If he thinks fans will wait until later in the playoffs, you can tell he just doesn't realize the "specialness" of ALL our games yet. I hope you go to this game, 1989NDN, but you'd better listen and get there early unless you don't mind sitting on someone's lap. How many hours until game time?

Look at history ... I've been going to PN-G games since 1972 ... my DNA is wired for all things PN-G ... I know when the fans will turn out ... look at 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1989, and 1999 ... the numbers back me up. Usually, the Indians get a few people amped up for bi-district, then a few more during the area round, then when regionals come around the numbers escalate, and, for the quarters, semis, etc. you will see fans turn out exponentially. I've caught the Indian high ... I live in Houston and I've seen them play 3x this season (Nederland, Central, and Barbers Hill at Stallworth). Unless I am out of town on business this Friday, I plan to be a Thorne ... I'm thinking the Indians will have few more "fans" this week when some of the Nederland fans decide to get on the Indian Express. I'm guessing there will be 15,000 to 16,000 at Thorne, depending upon how many spectators the fire marshall will permit in SRO. Here's to an Indians W.

Go Indians. Peace.

No need to excuse 1989NDN. He's right. Fans ACROSS THE COUNTRY won't come streaming in until later rounds and when the venue is large enough to guarantee a seat. Over the years I've heard from fellow alumni in CA, TN, AZ, FL and many other states who, because of the distance and cost, can only come to one game. Or even if people are a long drive away and can attend multiple games, they're not going to do it if the likelihood of getting a seat is low.

There are probably just as many fans outside of PN and Groves than there are in and around SE Texas. That's how you put 25,000-30,000 fans at a game as in the case of 1977 and 1999.

You're right, I apologize. I was thinking PNG local fans. We do pick up fans as we go. No offense meant, 1989NDN.

To paraphrase Coach Faircloth, "we need to worry about what we do and not the other team".

These coaches are the real deal and they put the players in the right situations to be able to win the game.

But this team's ultimate destiny is in the hands of the players. The Indians need to focus on playing sound, fundamental football and executing their assignments every play. Execution was the trademark of all great PNG teams in the past and the reason they beat teams that over matched them physically. Stop the untimely penalties, make your block every time, catch every ball that hits you in the hands, and hold on to the ball when you have it. On defense, be where you need to be and make the tackle every time. And go 100% every down. 4 quarters of optimum football.

If the Indians can do that they're going to be tough for anyone to beat.

if you look at the stats we have them beat at just about everything

Same was true for BH...but they played a solid game and we played sloppy in the first half, and we CAN NOT do that this time or it will cost us big time. We CAN and SHOULD beat Brenham, just don't want to slack off because of their "stats" vs ours.

Stats don't mean anything at this stage in the game. It's about the bragging rights, moving on in the playoffs and the state championship. I believe the INDIAN NATION will show up unless the weather turns them away. I am confident the coaches will have the team prepared and they will do their best to rise to the occasion. I hope the Referees are all wearing their glasses this week. Additionally, like everyone has said, we have to limit the turnovers, penalties, etc. Likewise, we have to capitalize on Brenhams mistakes if or when they occur. Our coaches have done an awesome job of making adjustments after the half. But with Brenham, we don't need to have to come from behind to get the win. Sometimes when we are behind, especially if it is significant, the fans go flat like a tire with a railroad spike in it. That's why I think the fans need to stay in the game from start to finish. I think it will give the team momentum whether they are ahead or behind. So come on INDIAN NATION - RISE UP !

If they do allow fans to sit on the grass etc. There will be alot of fans by the run thru and when the NDN's come out to go thru the run thru. Imagine how that will pump up the boys ! to see all those fans right there next to them.
