Man. Did y’all see the first play of the game by Pleasant Grove. Didn’t think they could top last year’s first play vs WOS but even though it wasn’t a TD this time wow. I just love this team. Go Hawks.

Number 3 for cuero is by far one of the best high school football players i've ever seen in 4 A football

PN-G running backs would do well to model their game after Aledo backs. Run hard, keep your legs moving after contact.

Same for the o line. They are dominating FBM. This is the way to block.

Well, it's ok to lose to a better team (F B Marshall).
I hate it when a team like FBM subsequently looks like an inept quitter like tonight.
QB consistently laying the ball on the ground.
Refusing to field a kick and allowing Aledo to recover...
No pride or desire. Like Manvel.
Did you see the FBM drum majors?
#5 less than awesome tonight.

Aledo won the game with coaching, and by controlling the tempo and clock. Aledo's OL pushed FBM around like rag dolls. Aledo hogged the ball, created a TO in the kicking game, and they never let the speed of FBM affect the game. Aledo has all the pieces. A fiesty QB that knows how to win. A stud RB that follows his OL to rack up big yards. Aledo's OL is no typical HS OL.

OT - 6'3" 270
OG - 6'3" 270
C- 5'9" 225
OG - 6'6" 270
OT - 6'5" 295
TE - 6'3" 225

The OL controlled the trenches. They ran an unbalanced line and consistently ran behind 270 lbs. and 295 lbs. FBM had no answer.

Aledo's defense is not big, but they tackle. They get to the ball and they get the ball carrier on the ground.

For a 5A-DII school, they must have suited out close to 100 players. People around the DFW metroplex question the amount of talent moving out to Aledo...just west of FW. They seem to have an endless supply of OL kids and RBs. Similar to Katy. Those big OL kids and RBs find their way to winning programs. Aledo counters that argument with, "hey, we've been doing this for the past 13 years."

Go Indians. Peace.

I used to live in that area. Aledo has been "attracting" students out of Fort Worth for a lot longer than 13 years.
Beginning in 1996 Aledo has averaged 13 wins per season.

And as one of the players mentioned, they have ‘the toughest’ offseason program in the state.
Any specifics on the offseason program?

We need a good strength and conditioning coach. We also need to hire a defensive expert.Let him pick 11 of the best and toughest defenders. If coach Faircloth stays his offense will move the ball with the remaining 11. This program needs to get back to the basics!!

No specifics mentioned on the off-season program. But this is an excellent insight into Aledo football strategy. And it’s amazingly basic. And it starts with the offensive line and tough running back play.

https://www.community-news.com/2018/12/seeking-8th-title-no-1-aledo-can-earn-schools-8th-state-football-championship-friday-when-bearcats-take-on-no-4-fort-bend-marshall/

Excerpt:

In the Bearcats’ two toughest playoff wins – 28-14 over South Oak Cliff and 26-16 over Frisco Reedy – Aledo used its rushing attack to wear down the Bears and the Lions, respectively, often scoring on drives of 12, 13 or 14 plays on mainly running plays.
This strategy not only takes advantage of Aledo’s overpowering offensive line, but also takes valuable time off the clock and limits the time its opponent has the ball on offense.Wood hopes to continue that strategy against the Buffalos.
“If our opponents’ offense is on the sidelines it can’t be scoring points,” Wood said. “Our running game has been a boost, and it demoralized (SOC and Reedy) because they couldn’t get on the field as often as they like.
“If we continue to control the line of scrimmage and run the football well we feel we can be successful. Fort Bend Marshall haa done a good job of stopping the run this year, but I am not sure they have played anyone like us.“We expect them to put a safety up on the line – they will put eight men in the box – but what it gets down to is us blocking them, and it is not rocket science. This game will come down to, can we block them? But I like our guys.”

And I think we might be fixing to see it from Shadow Creek (Manvel 2.0)
