Coach Charlie Wallace passed this weekend, he was a great coach and an even better man. He was the outside linebacker coach during the 1999 run. I have nothing but positive memories of him. RIP coach!

Charlie Wallace was also a great multi-sport athlete at PNG. He was all-district in baseball and basketball and was all-state honorable mention in football his junior year in 1961. That was the year the Indians won their first 4A district title, thanks to a last-second halfback pass by Wallace against Orange. I was 11 years old at the time and he immediately became my sports idol. He wore #44 on the football field which is the number I always chose when playing recreational sports later in life.
