Calallen lost earlier.1989NDN said:I went to the game at PV A&M. Great game. From their own 1 or 2-yard line, FB Marshall had a bad snap and fumble that CS recovered in the end zone. It changed the momentum of the game. Similar to PN-G, FB Marshall had no answer for CS QB#1. He scrambled all over the field. If CS and FB Marshall played 10x, each team would probably win 5x. They were two evenly matched teams. Even with the speed of FB Marshall, they slowed down CS QB#1 (some), but they did not come close to shutting him down or even mildly containing him. CS QB#1 may be one of the best players in all of TX. He is amazing for his size. I don't think PN-G would have fared well against FB Marshall. They had too much speed at the skilled positions and their OL/DL would have controlled the line of scrimmage similar to what CS did to the Indians.
Great season by PN-G...and a continued great season by CS...they now get the winner of Austin McCallum and Corpus Christi Calallen. The CS fans that I sat next to at today's game wanted another shot at Calallen. I'd like to see CS play for the championship vs. Aledo.
Go Indians. Peace.
I know nothing about McCallum, was telling one of my football homies they have shocked me this yr. Calallen must have underestimated them.1989NDN said:Did not know that BG, thanks for the update. The semi-final match-up will be CS vs. McCallum. Give us a breakdown of that match-up BG. I know nothing about McCallum and the CS fans wanted another round with Calallen, so the group I sat next to never said a word about McCallum.
BTW, the CS fans liked Cherokee and the war chant. They also liked the Indian Spirit. They asked me if PN-GISD catches grief from the political correct crowd, i.e., those that do not want sports teams using Native American names as mascots. I explained that PN-G received a seal of approval from the Cherokee nation during the seventies or eighties and that PN-G promoted the pageantry of Native American culture with honor and respect. They thought the Indian Spirit and Cherokee were cool.
Go Indians. Peace.
