What's the story on the field turf? I heard that there are some problems with it. I looked, but couldn't find any newspaper articles online.

In the paper it said something to the fact the approx. 20% don't see the 10 year garantee time. The problem, as I was told, was not the turf folks warranty but is it prorated and will this issue be resolved in time to replace it before spring training and possibley next fall.
From what one of the Maint Dept. guys told me you not only have to replace the turf BUT rework all the underground i.e. drainage, prep etc...

There is some concern the it could be a problem in completing it for next fall.

Time will tell.

From what the PA News said that everything should be ready by spring training. Also you have to take into account the climate we live in where we have blazing hot sun what 9 months out of 12 or so it seems.

Bark, I didn't understand your first sentence. Please elaborate.

Also, are you saying that it's pro-rated to the point that we'll have to pay to repair it? If so, not much of a warranty, if you pro-rate it after just 2 yrs.

Looking on-line at several examples of FieldTurf warranty certificates, there is no mention of proration. The turf is unconditionally guaranteed for 8 years.
Just from reading about it, FieldTurf is close to the industry standard--it is the surface on 21 of the 32 NFL fields.

Sounds like Torino did some investegation on-line. I'll go with what he has found with regard to warranty and quality.

Any chance we can replace the PNG with an Indian head on the center of the field when the new turf goes down?
