Although it is a sad and somber gathering to celebrate this fine man's life and legacy, I say have the PN-G Purple Pride Indian Band fire up Cherokee once or twice, have the Indian Spirit there to perform the school's most sacred dance, and send Ken Young to heaven with a smile on his face as his soul hears the sounds of Cherokee one more time.

Again, I know it is a solemn combination of sadness and celebration, but, from what I hear about Ken Young, I think he would have wanted nothing more than Indian fans and the Purple Pride Indian Band to play his favorite song. Evidently, he lived his life as a proud member of the PN-G community and tremendously proud fan of PN-GISD ... send him to heaven with the beating drums and loud sounds of Cherokee.

Thoughts and prayers to the Young family. RIP to Indian Ken.

Go Indians. Peace.

I think a brass choir playing the melody (the part that starts at "always be faithful") to Cherokee at 70 bpm would be appropriate, but without the trumpet counter melody on the second verse, have them play the same melody as alto/tenor brass. No drums except maybe a single snare playing a appropriate rythym for the occassion.

He LOVED Cherokee. In fact I worked with him for quite a bit until he was finally able to get it as his ringtone.

Awww. It should be played for him one last time, then.
