1. Who is saying Coach Faircloth is leaving? Has he mentioned it or insinuated that he wanted to leave PN-G?

2. Why would Coach Faircloth leave a high school head coach position and take a step back to be a high school offensive coordinator? I could understand moving to another high school head coaching job, where the population is growing, or moving up the coaching ladder as a position coach or coordinator at the collegiate level, but moving back to a coordinator's job at the high school level is not something I would anticipate. That is not a lateral or upward move.

3. Why wouldn't Coach Faircloth want to coach the FR QB? There is still some talent left in the PN-G pipeline. The Indians should be in position for 2 or 3 more years of playoff football. Building his resume for 2 or 3 more years should get him a better job moving up the coaching ladder.

4. I think Coach Faircloth wants to stay at PN-G and do two things: (1) win a SC; and, (2) get 97 coaching wins. He wants 97 coaching wins in 4 or 5 more years. He is a nice guy on the surface. But, anyone that has spoken to him for more than 2-minutes knows that he is a competitive guy. I think he wants his name all over the PN-G record books and his players' names on each page, too.

Go Indians. Peace.

Yes its been insinuated. Lots of rumors of him leaving to go to SLC for the OC position. I have been reading about this daily and have yet to find one shred of proof that he is tied to this in anyway.. Then I found this recently. Yes not saying it in a mean way but its definately been rumored here and other places....

I think there could be circumstances that would benefit such a move. Sometimes stepping back or sideways is a good short term move towards a final goal.

But I hope it never happens. And I hope that PN-G can take some steps to shore up the defensive program to better compete. If that happens the odds of reaching another SC game will be much greater.

Another factor might just be that, regardless of the school size or level of success, PN-G just might be a great place to be head coach and athletic director.

I've been to Katy, The Woodlands, and multiple Cy-Fair HS games in recent years. All much bigger schools that have achieved great success. And like many of us here, I've seen high profile programs like WO-S, LaMarque, Stephenville, Odessa Permian, etc. None of them have anything on PN-G HS in terms of school spirit or presence, or character. Fans of those programs will say so what, we win on the field. The rest of us will say how you get there also counts. So it may not be half bad being a HC/AD at PN-G.

PN-G may never have the numbers or athletes year in and year out that other schools have, but will feature smart, hard working players every year that give their all. And someday, maybe soon, the cycle will come back around and a deep playoff run will happen.

Probably not. Coach got away from Spring ball several years ago, because of baseball. I suspect this year will be the same thing.
