really wish things didn't turn out the way they have at UT All the BLM BS and renaming the field after a multiple suspended NFL Williams and Earl stating last year that "UT will never be a National champ without a black Qb"
if Campbell actually said that, he embarrasses himself, our memories of him, and many people that idolize him. What a disgraceful and disrespectful thing to say to all past, current and future Longhorn players. In this moment of national and global turmoil, we see the true character and hearts of individuals. I thought Earl would be above the identity politics and never thought he would hold such negative and incendiary opinions. Especially towards fellow Longhorns like Sam Ehlinger who loves UT and his fellow players with all his heart.
Stereotyping individuals based on skin color, and avoiding recognition of character and ability is the very definition of racism.
In 1963, Martin Luther King, the giant of America's civil rights movement, said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
It's now 2020 and we seem to be going backwards in terms of social evolution, yet the current group of young UT players were convinced otherwise.
Two wrongs do not make a right. This type of behavior will have the opposite effect of the claimed goals causing resentment where there may have been none before.
And I agree, Ricky Williams is no role model. But he won a Heisman so I guess that’s reason enough for a lot of people.
