Excellent idea PN-G82 ... a similar thing happened during the playoff run of 1999 ... the Indian band was stretched thin due to the UIL marching contest and the band directors allowed former Indian band members to practice during the week and then they marched at halftime in the Astrodome. The band directors were instrumental in giving their support to the idea, a few local residents who were diehard band members got the word out and organized participation, and the halftime performance spelled out PN-G # 1 while they played a song standing still ... and then they formed a rather large marching I and did what Indian bands have always done, blasted out Cherokee and marched right down the field at the Astrodome. Anyone else remember this? Was it 1999 or 1989? My mind is fading, but I remember discussing it with family members on the ride home. Surely, someone else out there remembers this? At least, I hope someone does. Ha-ha.
Good idea PN-G82. Beaumont is not too far to drive, local band alums can get there easily, perhaps former band members in Houston, Austin, and Dallas will make the trip to help out, and Indian fans can have Cherokee played before the game, during the game, at halftime, and after we nail down a W in Beaumont's new stadium.
Nice to read and talk football and football related topics; not politics.
Go Indians. Peace.
