Injury to Kirby Bellow

A post on bigned.com said that it apprears that Kirby (QB) torn his MCL. I hate to hear that. I hope that doesn't affect his pitching and scholarship. It is kind of ironic because when Kirby was a soph the senior QB was injured during the 1st game of the season. Kirby took over and the rest is history. Keep Kirby in your prayers.

Update: Later post on bigned.com said that it was his ACL. The poster got his CL's mixed up. Really bad news for Kirby.

Buddy called me from the WOS sidelines last night and told me about it during the game. Hate to hear that. I had heard that he contemplated not playing football this year after the UT decision. remember Sampere was also a very good baseball prospect and the injury he suffered (that started Bellow's career) set him back. Good Luck to him.

On a football note, many from Nederland felt that the Smith kid (Jr this year) might be a better QB than Bellow, just not the athlete.

I heard he is out for the rest of season from somebody on this board I feel really bad for him he was such a great player on the field good luck to the bulldogs and him.

Kirby has a torn ACL and he is out for the rest of the season but he should be good in to go in time for baseball.

I hate that for him and the Nederland football team.

Man, that is awful. I hope Kirby heals quickly to be ready for UT baseball :rocks: I will be there to watch him.
