I think oldschool's point was that this is old news, not to make light of his injury. I heard about it Sunday from one of my ned friends. There is nothing funny about a HS kid getting injured. Unlike college players, which can redshirt and the pros who can come back the next season, HS seniors are done. Hopefully Dionte will heal quickly and from what I am hearing, he will get another shot at it playing on Saturdays.

That's pretty much what I suspected ndnsrock44, but I still feel it was inappropriate comment... or at least a comment I would not have made had it been one of your kids. Maybe because I know him personally and my son is friends with him. I do appreciate your comments though and hopefully he'll be back to finish up his senior year in good health.
May ALL our kids stay healthy and injury free thru this season.

How long they saying he's going to be out Yankeedawg?? I sprained my MCL YEARS ago and it took me sometime to heal, but I was in my upper 20's then. I was playing Basketball with some teenagers and me trying to act 16 again and bam!!!!

I hope he can make a full recovery soon, but it may take several weeks.

Here's the article from the PAN, Justafan. http://panews.com/sports/x281470714/Nederland-s-QB-jinx-strikes-again
He also fractured his throwing hand ring finger. I love scrimmages!!! UGH...
Assuming the facts are straight, up to 6 weeks out.

Appreciate your good wishes.

Best wishes to the young man for a speedy recovery. If anyone can prepare for an unexpected injury like this--it's coach Newman. Good luck to the dogs this weekend.

Scrimmages can help you get ready for the season but can really hurt you with injuries. We were VERY lucky last Friday scrimmaging PAM. They were taken it as a real game and took several cheap shots against Doty.

I agree...they are good for preparation, but the injury factor...I don't know if it's worth the risks.

That really sux about PAM...no reason to try to injure anyone. Intentionally injurying an opposing player, especially during a "meaningless" scrimmage should be dealt with severely by the officials.

For some reason PAM acts like they have a chip on their shoulder and that they have something to prove. I say if you can't play with class--then drop them off the schedule and let them find another game, scrimmage or not.

YD, In no way was my reaction to his comment a sign of gladness for his injuries. I would never do that. It was merely a knee jerk reaction to the fact that Ned has unfortunately lost yet another qb, and that seems to be the repeated story over and over again. What is this now, like 5 in the last 2 yrs? So, like a man on the moon, it's no surprise when you hear it again.

Sorry if I came across that way. It was not my intention at all.

As someone who used to work for PAISD, I can say that the chip is from everyone who could afford to get out moving to PN, Groves, Ned, and BC.

Hope Forney has a speedy recovery.

No problem my friend..I know you have too much class to make light of a kid getting hurt on the field. I guess maybe I reacted in a "knee-jerk" manner (as you put it) as well, in defense of him and the comment struck me the wrong way, in a way it was not intended.

I believe 5 is the right number (although it seemed like alot more at times). The kid they have ready to step in (Raines) from what I hear, has what it takes to play competitively on Friday nights. He just needs to gain the experience..

Should make for an interesting 1st half of the season...

Good luck to you and your new Q.B. yankeedawg. Here's hoping that a little Indian magic rubs off on you and the dawgs, and you beat O'l Dan and his boys from WOS. ;D

LOL...appreciate that, NDN79...hopefully the soph QB can step up and make a great debut Friday night. Like I posted to Proud, I hear the only thing he lacks is the Friday night experience; other than that, we should be good. We just have to keep Coach Hooks on the sidelines and not on the field (and outta the officials ears), which has been known to happen on occassion!! WOS is always a tough game, but I think our guys will do well.

Good luck to the Indians against G-P...Ima try to catch the game on MCM's stream.

Safe travelling to/from SA. And easy does it on the 'ritas!! :woohoo:

Yankeedawg if Ned. can keep Hooks on the sideline and out of the officials ear--that will be a bigger story than the outcome of the game LOL !!
