Ned's QB Woes

Man, the Bulldogs just can't get a break. According tho the PA Blues, Nederland's starting QB, Senior Tyler Smith, informed Coach Neumann that he's decided not to play football this season, so that he can "focus entirely on baseball". It seems that they lose at least 1 QB every season. IMO, Forney is a better fit for the team. He seemed to really take control back there.

I agree Forney did very well when he took over, but don't forget that Smith also did very well in the few games he played in between 2008 & 2009. Forney actually took over for Atteberry who took over for Smith when he got hurt who took over for Bellows when he got hurt! Ouch. Maybe now I see the pattern that is keeping young Mr. Smith off of the gridiron this year.
Having Smith at QB would have made them stronger on defense allowing Forney to play DE which is a week spot for the Dogs, but hard to argue that the Bulldog passing game won't be stout with Forney at QB. Now they just gotta find some guys to protect those QB's and a running game.

I've been lurking. Didn't really wanna get into the political/coaching/school board fray, but kept on reading because, well, it wasnt FOOTBALL SEASON yet! Like everybody else, I'm starting to get excited and wearing purple again on Fridays. Looking forward to another good year for the Indians and District 20-4A. Thanks for the welcome back.

i may be wrong for saying this but I just never thought Smith had the talent everyone said he did. This is my opinion only...love the kid but I just dont know.
