The anticipation, excitement and unfortunate disappointment of week 4 is done.
Time for fans and team to wipe the slate. Time for the team to take the good and work on the bad.
Positives:
Dominated the first half and started the second in a similar fashion against what is supposed to be one of the better teams in the district. Easily moved the ball on the ground and through the air. Some key turnovers and mistakes on the final 4 drives stopped the positive momentum and proved to be insurmountable. Those offensive mistakes can be corrected leading to competitive wins against similar or better competition.
The defense stopped multiple 4th down attempts and demonstrated some excellent protection in the secondary.
There are many more positives than negatives to take away from that performance. It was entirely winnable.
Opportunities:
Continuous improvement is key to all teams. The coaches and players will identify what needs to be focused on. End result a tougher and better team will go into week 5 on a mission. Tougher opponents are ahead but the tools are in place to compete against any team in 12-5A. Anything is possible and the Indians need only to strive to improve the things that went wrong and play with a vengeance against every opponent for the next 6 weeks and beyond.
