BeautifulAs frustrating as life has been in 2020, for some there have been numerous setbacks, it’s Often too easy to voice those frustrations, to even direct that towards our favorite things in life. Even high school sports teams.
This has been a tough year on the defensive side of the ball. For whatever the reasons may be it has been far from ideal. I don’t imagine the players are too happy with it either.
I often wonder if times and high school age kids have changed so much that the meaning of being a PN-G Indian are just not the same anymore. (We ‘older people’ wonder about that more as time passes.)
I wonder if maybe the same level of desire, effort or ‘pride’ is just not there. Or that coaches just don’t coach the game like they used to. The game just doesn’t seem to be played like it was in prior years.
Of course all the haters and wing nuts in the world will tell us that all our ‘honor, pride and tradition’ is a farce anyway. But it was not and is not.
Going into this last game of the regular season here’s to hope and faith that the 2020 Indians will find a way to play a fantastic game on both sides of the ball. And then prepare for one more week of playoff football. And see where that leads. Anything is possible.
Here’s to hoping the coaches will shake things up. Maybe play some players in situations that will put the greatest force on the field. Do something different. To stop the negative momentum. Here’s hoping that players will go 110% on every play and look to put a BIG hit on somebody every play. Offense and defense. No quarter. Give the opposition something to remember.
Good luck tomorrow Indians.
