I remember learning about the Rainbow Bridge during a middle school project. If I remember correctly, it was constructed during the 1930s. I wonder when this photograph was taken? 1940s? It does put the passing of time in perspective. Thank you for sharing.

P.S. My parents and grandparents used to share memories about the old draw bridge on Pleasure Island and the theme park that existed on the island. Any pictures of those old relics?

Go Indians. Peace.

I recall drivers ed and the fear factor of driving on the Rainbow, or sitting in the backseat while another learner drove. Back then 3 kids were in the car with the instructor and took turns.

Back then it was a narrow, 2-lane experience. Can you imagine new drivers struggling to keep the car between the wall and middle lane with oncoming traffic only a few feet away? Madness that they made us drive over that bridge.
