Thanks to all who voted and made this possible. We were presented with a banner, which we quickly held up to show the Nederland band and followed up with by playing a loud round of Cherokee.

Luckily, it wasn't the only victory us Indians had over that other school tonight.

Congrads to our Band.... :band: They showed real class. I really loved last nights performance. I also loved the way ya'll spread out (before the game), faced the crowd and played Cherokee. It made even the far end of the stadium stand up!!!! The Indianettes ended up in front of me. I was 22 rows up and could hear them singing Cherokee loud and clear. :woot:

I, too, was impressed with the band last night. In fact, upon studying the band issues I can't help but believe that I was wrong. Now, I seriously think that it is NOT because they play Cherokee softly, but that someone needs to check out our new sound system. We are on the 30 yard line and we couldn't even tell when Cherokee was playing because we couldn't hear it. One time I asked my friend why were all those fans standing. When told it is because the band was playing cherokee I was shocked. Hopefully, someone can do something so everyone can stand and sing. Next home game come our side and listen. I loved the way the band marched in last night!

The band has marched in like that every game this season.

Way to go PNG Purple Pride Band! It was a great honor for all of you. I want you to know that the two towns went crazy with email to encourage everyone to vote. All fans, young and old, supported the band all the way!

Bandkid - what a nice post from you!

Hope the car wash goes well next weekend! Everyone please go to the Circuit City parking lot to get your car washed next Saturday! A few weeks ago over 50 band students turned out to wash cars and raise money! That is sooooo much better than those can shakes. I love to see the kids work hard for what they want to do! Let's all support that as well please.

I voted every time I went online last week, which was quite often. BTW, I missed something. I did watch the band march in every game, but I didn't see them march in front of the visitor's side or did I miss something?

Squaw, when they enter the south side of the stadium from the band hall, they march on the track in front of the visitor's side. They circle around behind the score board, and then go in front of the home side. They stop in front of all of us and then play Cherokee. Then they march into the stands. They do it every time. :)

You know though, a few Nederland fans were the only ones who haven't been nice about it. What a shame. I really want to complement all our kids - band, cheerleaders, Indianettes, Indian Spirit, GCrew, etc. who listened to all the garbage and did not react to it. That shows great class and I'm proud of all of our kids for acting so maturely!
