BH is the best team in the district. The Eagles will be tough to beat. They are strong in the trenches, they throw the ball downfield, and they attack the middle of the field. PN-G has been hammered with injuries. Here's to the Indians putting all the pieces together next Friday for a W.

Go Indians. Peace.

Good assessment 89. Since they got that new coach, they've been getting progressively better and better each year. I don't know what their state ranking is, but it should be better than ours.
All the cards are gonna have to fall right for the Indians for us to escape with a W. IMO

Good points but I'm going to be optimistic and hope that the Indians will play better on offense. They have not executed well this season and have some upside. I especially like the Indians chances if Latin and Girouard are back from injuries on defense. And if Burt is back on the offensive line.

I think these two teams are a closer match than a lot of people think. It will be a good game.

The 14 points scored by Lee and Dayton are a result of much deserved playing time for 2nd and 3rd teamers in the second half of each game. So the defensive points allowed should be about 14 points less on the PN-G side and probably 14 more on the offensive side. The Indians just didn't play up to their capabilities against Crosby so that game is more of an outlier.

This is the biggest game of the year so far. Let's hear some other thoughts!

More interesting analytics. Food for discussion and thought. Nothing more.

To summarize, PN-G has a slightly stronger passing defense while Barbers Hill has the better run defense.

PN-G has the edge in the passing game, Barbers Hill has a slight edge in moving the ball on the ground.

The Indians will need to protect Bost and the receivers will need to run good routes and and catch every ball that hits them in the hands. Trahan, Hernandez and whoever else is back to run the ball needs to fight for positive gains on every carry. No more lateral movement, they don't have the speed or quickness to out run any defense.

The Indian defense needs to protect against the long ball, but otherwise just keep playing at their proven level. If Latin and\or Girouard are back for this game and anchor the defensive line and put pressure on the Eagles QB, I like PN-G's chances.

Barbers Hill (7-1, 5-0) at Port Neches-Groves (6-2, 4-1): Barbers Hill can all but lock up the district title this week with a win over preseason district favorite Port Neches-Groves. The Eagles defense has been sensational the last five weeks allowing a total of 28 points and pitching two shutouts. It was more of the same in last week’s 28-7 win over Crosby as its defense held Crosby to just 216 yards of offense and forced four turnovers. QB Blake Bost has done a great job taking over the offense for PNG this year and he chipped in a pair of rushing touchdowns in last week’s 20-7 win over Santa Fe, but the Indians passing game scuffled a bit and they’ll need that offensive balance to keep the Barbers Hill defense off-balance. Barbers Hill is the slight favorite and unbeaten team in district play, but I’m taking Port Neches-Groves in this one. The Indians are at home and they’ve got a noticeable home field advantage and that’s key.

Penalties, dropped passes, limited running game...... That's what makes me nervous and pacing the floor here at the Hutto, TX PN-G chapter.
