Obviously we are the underdogs here. This is a great team that could beat anyone in the state most weeks. Time to see the heart of the Indians. Let's give them all we have the Indians are never out of any game.

FBM has a good record with their only loss was to Manvel. They did, however, play some weak competition in the district.

Tough playoff draw for the Indians. All you can do is go line up and play the game. FBM has two DI talents at QB (#1 Hornsby) and at RB/WR (#5 Achane). PN-G fans will remember them from last year. Whenever Achane gets off the bus, he is a threat to score...from anywhere on the field. The Indians do not have kids to match his quickness and speed. The best you can do is try and limit the possessions of FBM. Whenever the Indians have the ball, keep it. March down the field, control the clock, and score touchdowns. No one will beat FBM kicking field goals. On defense, get lined up correctly and do your best to contain the perimeter and keep everything in front of you. Much easier to say than to do. FBM will spread the field and put the ball in open space. That's what they do. They are good at it. The Indians have to do their best to contain the Buffs in open space and get as many defenders to the ball as possible. Again, all you can do is line up correctly, get in position, and do your best. FBM is going to score. They will bust big plays. They are a threat to win the state championship for a reason. If something goes wrong, re-group, play hard, don't give-up, and make a few breaks go your way. Why not take a few gambles? You have nothing to lose. Onside kick, fake punt, trick plays, and do the same on defense...take a few gambles. With RJ leading the Indians last year, FBM rolled by 50. It's a tall task, but I love the Indians and I will roll with PN-G. Play hard, play as fast as you can, and keep your head up...even when things go against you...keep your head held high and play the best game you can play. Give great effort and see what happens. Since 1925, PN-G Indians have played with HONOR, PRIDE, and TRADITION. Do the same here, and let's see what happens. When the game is over, you will still be a PN-G INDIAN. That right there makes you a winner.

PN-G in a monumental upset!

PN-G 56
FBM 55

Go Indians. Peace.

That's exactly how Calallen almost beat FBM last year. I watched the game on TexanLive and it was amazing to see how CCC controlled the FBM offense. They didn't try to penetrate much on defense (which creates seams for fast guys like Achane). Instead they maintained their position on the line of scrimmage and moved laterally with the offense. All gaps were covered that way and FBM had very few long gains. Achane did break one 80yd TD run, but that was it. And on offense CCC ran the ball effectively, keeping FBM's offense off the field.

Calallen had 17 first downs and 283 yards of total offense. Fort Bend Marshall had 210 yards rushing. 14 first downs and 309 total yards. So it was a very close game (FBM won 19-17). CCC probably should have won except for a very questionable call on a long TD near the end of the game.

CCC did not have any D1 athletes on defense, but they had a good game plan and hustled to the ball. A lot like our D this year. If we play well like we have in the past 2 games, we have shot at beating them.

Can someone relay this suggestion to Coach Faircloth? It sounds like a proven strategy.

No doubt if Archane gets any space he is gone. That kids looks like he barely has to try to outrun a defense. God given ability.

I have no idea. I saw PN-G play in-person @ Huntsville and @ Santa Fe. Huntsville was good and overwhelmed the Indians in the first half. PN-G played the Hornets tough in the second half. Did not see any plays where the Indians broke a long gain or had to run down the Hornets. @ Santa Fe was cold, windy, and a slug fest. I don't remember speed being on display. Maybe a local can answer the question.

Gonna be an uphill battle tomorrow night.

Also, WO-S favored by 58 in a playoff matchup?? How ridiculous is this new playoff structure?!?!?!

If the passing game is clicking like last week, that will open up some running room and keep the chains moving. Bost and company are good for 10 yards almost every pass thrown. The guys in the trenches will be the difference. Bost needs time and the backs need some breathing room. Would be great to see soph Koby Trahan and D. Conner get some carries.
