One area we need to sharpen up on is PUNT RETURNS. We need to get in front of the ball, and not to be afraid to let it bounce if a clean clear return is not possible. Not all kicks are returnable.

Hopefully, the offense will throw more to Segura and have him run a few more different patterns. This kid seemed eager to catch the ball last week at Barbers Hill.

Cegiesiski proved he can make the catch if he is given the opportunity so hopefully Tatum will feel a little more comfortable tossing to him as well.

Don't think it's on Tatum as to who he throws to. From what I have seen these past few years, the QB in this offense has one option when he drops back. not much progression. Wish they would use Tatum's strong arm and give him some options in the passing game.

Crosby was beaten by a Waco U team that was picked to finish last in it's district last week. I see PNG being a little more diverse with it's attack. I look for a few more play actions and some more crossing routes, pluss a pass or two to the TE. We scrap the option or anything involving Tatum running with the ball and win this one with a little gusto.

PNG 27
Crosby 6

Then the fun begins, gettin ready for TC. Two power running games. May not need a clock operator, just start it and let it stop at the end of the quarter!.

Once again, if this is true someone should be fired. That would be the dumbest thing I ever heard.

As MB has said in the newspapers, the pre-district schedule will be a learning and teaching opportunity ... and a chance for some of the younger kids to gain experience and confidence. We may see some more ups and downs vs. Crosby. As long as the kids play hard, play with great effort, and get in position to make some plays, we should get better this week. Winning is hard. Like other posters, I think we should throw the ball more ... not sideways on 2 yard outs, but down the field; hang on to the football in the run game; have our defense continue to keep everything in front of them and gang tackle; and, work on special teams. Remember, it was an odd week for the coaches and the kids thanks to Gustav ... some of the sharpness may not be there since the coaches are working on a short week. PN-G 20 and Crosby 14.

Just pray for no injuries ... we need all of our kids healthy for district play in the next 2 to 3 weeks.

Go Indians. Peace.
