Tough to call yet. Id like to think we unveil some of our designed QB runs with Roschon. I believe we should be able to beat Silsbee. but its football and we are playing some younger players at key position.

This is a tough test early in the season. Silsbee is slated to make a deep run in the 4A playoffs while we have a lot of young, unproven talent playing under the Friday night lights. No doubt the Reservation will be packed, likely on both sides of the stadium. I look for a lot of vanilla from the NDNs on the offensive side of the ball with several wrinkles added in. I'm cautiously optimistic about this season and am looking for us to hit our stride around week 5 or 6.

Indians have a few quick strike offensive weapons. If the o-line does its job, I look for a lot of PNG scoring.

Not a lot of game talk. I guess everyone is just waiting to see what the team looks like.

I'm optimistic. I saw a lot of good things during the WB scrimmage. One of the keys for 2016 is to stay healthy. The Indians may have some growing pains this season, but you can tell the QB is going to be a good one. I did not see him run much in the WB scrimmage, but he extended plays, picked up yards before the whistle was blown, and I like what I saw from him throwing the ball. Nice deep ball, a pretty soft touch on the passes to the flat , and he can zip it in there on the slant. The OL is not huge, but not tiny. In the WB scrimmage, OL #s 79, 72, 55, and 77 are not giants, but they are big enough. The hit you and stay on the block. WB was massive and our kids held their own. On defense, we are not very big or fast. Protecting the edges and defending against the deep ball is a must. WB threw a fade route and the WR out jumped our DB, but he was in position to make a play. The crossing route WB scored could have been stopped, but two or three DBs hit the WR and he still got to the end zone. Like all PN-G teams, the kids play hard and they are proud to be Indians. I'm ready to roll with them in 2016 and support them 100%. I can't make the Silsbee game, so I'll be following the game on this message board. Looking forward to PN-G visiting Goose Creek Memorial and Baytown Lee...easy drive from Houston. The above is my 0.02 cents and I admit that I see the world through purple lenses. Any coach or kid that puts on the purple and white has my support.

And, I don't know anything about Silsbee...but like the old Saturday Night Live skit with Chris Farley, George Wendt, Mike Meyers, and Mike Ditka's Da Bears (the Chicago Superfans skit), I say the PN-G Indians win 100 and whoever else we are playing 0.

Go Indians. Peace.

A 6a size school playing in 5A land ought to do very well! Best of luck to the mighty Titans tonight.

Fear has nothing to do with anything. PN-G teams show up and bang with anyone. Even the great teams that WO-S has put on the field know they've been in a war when playing PN-G, win or lose. Memorial is just another local team that the Indians will prepare for and play against with the same intensity.

The topic I mentioned is pure numbers. Memorial struggled to play with larger 6A teams in recent years and that was often publicly discussed.
In 2016 Memorial is just 52 students short of the 6A lower limit. Now Memorial is the 12th largest 5A school in the state playing in a district that has 3 schools that barely remained in 5A, and the other 5 schools in the lower half of 5A enrollment numbers. PAM coaches have publicly acknowledged that advantage and are grateful to be playing in 22-5A. Big fish in a smaller pond.

No fear, just facts. If a new rivalry is realized that even approaches the great PNG-TJ matchups, it will be great for local fans.

Nederland has been down before. Any team or fan that counts a win before playing them may be in for a shock.
