I know I think that the coach Welch should be fired because the o line can't protect Tatum.

Nevermind - I don't know how to say what I want to say without trashing a kid - so nevermind.

Not really sure it is the fault of the kids, you don't know how to protect the QB if you have not been taught. Tatum does great when the pocket stays secure.

The offensive line has traditionally been a strength of every PN-G team. It's disturbing that a unit comprised of 2 year starters actually regressed in their ability to run and pass block.

Going back to the days when Butch Troy was the offensive line coach, PNG offensive lines have succeeded with strong, fundamental techniques and execution. That allowed 170 pound lineman to win the battle on the line of scrimmage against much larger opponents. Fast forward to 2008 where PN-G linemen are 230-260+ pounds and the results should be much different. It's time to refocus on the basics of football.

I think some of the blame goes to the coaches insisting on playing your starting lineman both ways. There is NO excuse for this. We have one of the highest turn outs every year in grades 9-12. I don't think it is a coincidence our kids can't execute in the second half. There is no reason for one of the biggest 4A schools in the district to be playing kids both ways.

Excellent point. I agree.

Thats the problem they have been taught. Its not like they just started playing this year. Most have been in the system since middle school.I think most started last year,so thats not a valid point,i think the problem is when the defensive line is overpowering and just flatout faster changes have to be made. That is coaching,so now you have to leave the RBs in to help pass block which takes away a hot route in the flats which is suppose to be a saftey route just in case the QB is in trouble or chased out of the pocket.Anybody can throw a pass with a perfect pocket, but a good QB can make the plans when it's not a perfect pocket.Tatum has shown a few times he can do it but not all the time.Maybe they should have some roll out passes to get him out of the pocket and away from danger, then you could have your RBs in the passing game.
