KWP not doing well this season. Part of PNG making the playoffs will be beating them and Santa Fe to have a shot at the playoffs.

Very doable, but could definitely be trap games. I think Faircloth is wise enough to not overlook any opponent, so the boys should be prepared.

I think its a good game to work out some kinks and maybe get some depth into the game for practice

I know nothing about KP. Style of offense? Defense? Personnel? Coaches? I do know the stadium is not too far from my home, and presuming no rain or bad weather, I will be there to watch PN-G get another W. Enjoyed watching PN-G play @ Tomball and looking forward to watching them play @ KP. Go Indians.

Kingwood Park Panthers
2021 Preview

Coach: Clayton Maple. Lettermen R/L: 28/18. Starters returning O/D: 6/4. 2020: 2-8/2-4 district.
Players to watch: OL Erick Zapata (6-4, 275), LB Grant Golden (5-10, 215, 4.5), ATH Hayden Bender (5-10, 165, 4.7), OL Trent Savage (6-4, 250), WR Graycen Adrian (6-0, 155, 4.7), DB Bane Klinefelter (5-9, 150, 4.7). Top juniors: ATH Patrick Overmyer (6-4, 165, 4.7), OL Erik Contreras (6-0, 300). Top sophomore: QB Jaxon Sims (5-7, 155, 4.7).

Other prospects: DB Hudson Gary, LB Pablo Cantu, DB Cameron Fain, RB/LB Cody Floyd, WR/DB Pierce Richards, DL Caden Henry, DE Diego Davis, OL Cameron Maxey.

2021 notes: The Panthers will lean on 28 returning lettermen to lead the way back to the playoffs after missing out on the postseason for the first time in three years. ATH Bender (35-342 yards, 4 TDs receiving) will be the Panthers’ top weapon on offense, as he was an all-district selection a year ago. The Kingwood Park offensive line expects to be solid with the return of outstanding juniors Zapata and Savage. Kingwood Park’s defense only returns four starters and has plenty of holes to fill. LB Golden will be counted upon to provide senior leadership and help a young group mature and adapt to the speed of varsity football. The secondary will be led by DB Klinefelter, who brings solid experience to the table.

Thankks for the info! BTW, I'm Back! Was in MS & LA for the past month (hurricane stuff) and missed some good games. I hope all are doing well and avoiding that virus thing.

Barbers Hill was no slouch and they played BH alot tougher than I would like to see. Crosby and TC scores tell a different story but on any given Friday......Can’t let up at all in this district.

mentioned not sure in what thread
But our DBs — two things (if I were the/a coach)
First they seem to have a “high/top-heavy” posture so when there’s incidental contact they sometimes seem to lose balance (this is the best way I can explain what I think I see (establish a solid base even when chasing/covering/ running)
But then seemingly contradictory they’re not attacking the ball in the air at it’s highest point they’re sometimes waiting for the ball to float into their hands/defense focus on the receiver until you see his EYES focus on the ball hands raise then you in one motion put your hand through the middle of their hands as you find the ball
I don’t assume this is foreign to them I KNOW the coaches teach this I’m just observing what I see and as we all know repetition is key especially in game situations how many times have we all during games said “OHHHHH THATS what the coach meant “
I’m super impressed with the team as always Indian SPIRIT shows through unlike any other team around (maybe Aledo lol)

Who coaches the DB’s and do they have any experience at the position? Also I want this big fast MLB get get more aggressive and mean!

Jayce Nelson and David Wallace are listed as secondary coaches.

I'm not aware of Wallace's background. Nelson was a great receiver here and should have a good idea of how to coach pass defense.

Jayce Nelson - PNG
2010 - 77 rec, 1140 yards, 12 TDs
2011 - 62 rec, 1033 yards, 10 TDs
Top Games - 210, 167, 131 yards
2011 TSWA 4A All-State, APSE 4A All-State

His best season at Lamar U. was 24 - 311 - 6 TDs in 2014.

I want the whole defense to play mean. I remember back when we played, our whole defense played angry. We were head-hunting on every down. I hate to say it, but aggression is far and few between these days in high school football. Change of the times I suppose.

Oh I agree. I think they played pretty well
On the one long pass to 81 the DB had him covered like a glove
Just had a high center of gravity and so when the ball got there he was “leaning” on the WR off balance so fell long TD but it was actually GREAT coverage probably a long ball that shouldn’t have been thrown other than single coverage. I do see secondary breakdowns but I see that regularly on every level all the way down to the NFL so it’s going to happen. This is an overachieving team as have been a good majority of PNG teams
Heck yeah
