Quarterback in 2009

We can only imagine how good Tatum could have been with Faircloth coaching him in the new offense.

But judging by the performance of Doty and Desmond in the P&W game video, this may be one of the best seasons at that position in years.

What does everyone else think?

Agreed, Doty is the better passer and Desmond is the better runner. At looking at the Permian game videos from last year they'll utilize both in the game plan.

It pains me everytime I think about Harrison Tatum and Josh Wright not being able to utilize their talents under this new Indian offence. But at least the current Seniors (& others) can benefit with the new coaches.

Can you imagine how good the team would have been 2 years ago ? Hemmings, tatum etc. I think Faircloths Offense would have destroyed the district teams and we probably would not have started out loosing our first 2 games. I think we would have probably beat lamar Consolidated. We had them moving backwards in the first half and then the play calling turned completely around and we couldn't do anything. From the game films I've watched of Odessa Permian from last year, they stick to their game plan and make minor adjustments and exploited the other teams weaknesses as the game progressed instead of freaking out and panicing !!! Can't wait to see whats coming down the pipe from Faircloth ! Remember at the Spring game we probably only saw 40% of the possible plays he has !

I say Desmond needs to be on the field with Doty. Move Desmond around and use his athleticism at WR, TB and under Center on occassion. Doty is the better QB, but Desmond the better athlete. That's a great problem to have for a HC. :)

Desmond is a heck of a runner.

Have we had these types of players in the past, and they never developed? Or is this just a good year at QB?

I'm telling you guys now, the district pundits have no clue what's about to hit them. This looks like the real deal.

I agree with all you're saying. What I want to know is who is PNG going to scrimmage and when, if known. Anybody out there know yet?

The only scrimmage we will have is with P.A. Memorial. Coach is still working out the details.
Thats one of the few downsides to having a spring camp. you loose a scrimmage in the fall (summer).

harmon and desmond have been working out and training with me all summer long doing my college workouts ive been given, and let me say this.. ive known harmon my whole life were basically brothers and ive never seen him more focused or ready to do something.. we havent tested it yet but he may be faster than me now he has become just as quick and desmond is right there with him.. the problem of not enough caring last year wont be there this year with these two guys leading the team i promise.. theyll make things happen and i see them going 4 rounds deep

Doty looks like the better passer but Desmond appears to have great instinct, quickness, and desire.

IMO Desmond needs to be part of the offense. If he;s not playing QB, either at running back or short yardage receiver.

Correction indian20106 -- Harmon and Desmond have been working out at Mid-County Fitness 5 days a week all summer. They have both gotten bigger, stronger and faster and we expect great things from both of them (and the entire PN-G team) this year.
