IndianFan - your website is incredible. The webpages for PN-G records is impressive. The time, focus, and energy that you have invested into the website is intense. In particular, your efforts given to the coaching records, individual records, team records, the team pages, rosters, pictures, fan interests, and the history of all things PN-GISD is AMAZING.

Brian Newton, PN-G Class of 198? - you are the greatest alumnus of PN-GISD, bar none. Your loyalty and dedication to PN-G puts you up there with Tip Durham, Doug Ethridge, Barbara Comeaux, Dr. Oliver Monk, and many other great Indians.

Thank you sir for the kind words. It's people like yourself and others who carry the PN-G spirit and excellence throughout life that should also be recognized and thanked.

I have to argue that an alumnus who enjoys giving back to school and community through a hobby effort probably doesn't belong in the category of great coaches and educators. Or in the category of people like Buck Ford and Beau Freyou who both accomplished great historical media projects to recognize PN-G Football.

The pngindians.com web site is an almost 20 year, NON-PROFIT project that has been 'perfected' to the point it's now quite simple to maintain and enhance. The significant pro-bono technical investment and work is simply a contribution to everything that I, and many of us, call 'home'. It's now more of a joyful distraction to a hectic career than an effort.

I'm glad that the cumulative efforts has resulted in something that we can all utilize and enjoy. Hopefully it is a good reflection of the intended pride in past and present that all PN-G alumnus should rightfully recognize and claim. History is never irrelevant or out of context. History is being made every day. Accomplishment and excellence never fades. It's to be remembered and modeled after.

It's also important to recognize the many, many partnerships and virtual friendships over the years. Historical content and photos are difficult to obtain, and there have been many PN-G faithful that have assisted with that over the years. Parents, coaches, former players, dedicated fans and our local media are all a big part of content. Without content a website is meaningless. I wish more of you could\would contribute material. And dare I say utilize more.

For the small contingent of alumnus that consider pngindians.com and this included messageboard as 'rah rah' material, and target undeserved criticism towards the content rather than appreciation, I hope you enjoy it even more, and some day come to grips with your issues.

Sounds corny to some, but all of us alumnus do share a common background and positive mentality. We were fortunate to grow up in a good community with good schools and educators. Many of us with a blue collar background. We know what it means to work hard for accomplishments. For those that experienced the Ethridge years of football, you know what that instilled in you. You learned what dedication and hard work can achieve, even the improbable. It’s probably the same for later generations, just different circumstances. That fighting PNG spirit stays with you for a lifetime. It is special and not common. Our virtual community here is a place to revisit a bit of that, especially those of us who have been away for years. And for newer generations, where else will they find this history and positive examples of former excellence? Corny as it may be, I will do my part to celebrate and preserve that heritage.

As BamaTex says, “Once an Indian, always an Indian.”
