Hellas Matrix Turf is the best in the business. In place at both Texas NFL stadiums as well as DKR Stadium in Austin, and many more top stadiums across the country.

NRG Stadium switched from an AstroTurf GameDay Grass 3D system to Matrix Turf.

Geo Plus Infill
Geo Plus is an organic infill alternative made from 100% environmentally friendly materials consisting of coconut fibers and cork. Geo Plus, with a full sprinkler system, reduces surface temperatures by up to 40 degrees Fahrenheit through resisting heat absorption and retaining humidity in a cooler field. Geo Plus also increases foot stability and is highly permeable.

Lamar University, Beaumont ISD and Port Arthur ISD are the only other Golden Triangle schools with Matrix Turf. Barbers Hill is the other district school using it.

Any idea of the what the mid-field logo might look like? Same as the last field? Something new? Are we getting an entirely new scoreboard or updates to the existing structure? Either way, thanks to the board, administration, and taxpayers for the new field, track, and scoreboard.

Go Indians!

Hoping it’s a full video board similar to Carthage/Barbers Hill/Crosby and other schools that have them.

Mechanical boards require maintenance and repair and the advertising possibilities on a big ‘Jumbotron’ are greater. If the screen area is large enough you can display the game action and stats and rotate ads on the edges while playing a full screen ad briefly on the full board. It would pay for itself!

Nevco 16mm panels. Same video tech used by Carthage ISD, New Caney ISD, Beaumont ISD, etc.

Still no indication if they are just replacing the existing display area or expanding it.

Looks like the screen is wider. They’re laying the turf now.

Folks, that looks to be a significantly larger board.

Look at the "Welcome to The Reservation" sign at the bottom of the scoreboard. Compare the width of that section with the video display width in the two photos. And with the overall width of the scoreboard. That old display was 27' wide. The new display is quite a bit wider. Maybe not a record size but very nice.

In person you can definitely tell the size difference.

Flashback to the last scoreboard and video install conversation here. Justafan shared the dimensions of the video display that was just replaced.

"The cost includes the new windstorm rated structure, a 16’6” High x 27’ Wide video display with 10MM resolution, 3 cameras and computer equipment with training, and an upgrade to our existing sound system."

So that means the new display is approximately 40' wide.
