Love his reporting or not he was a local sports reporting legend. May he rest in peace.

He was a consistent producer of good sports news. And he helped Sheffield Productions and Jim Barton pioneer televised high school football in the area and maybe the state.

Job well done Mr. West. Rest in peace.

He was a PN-G hater for a while - after we "stole" Doug Ethridge from TJ in 1973. But he eventually got over that and became an ardent supporter. Those Friday Night Experience broadcasts with Jim Barton during the 1999 run to the state championship are indeed legendary. I'll miss his coverage of Chris Stroud and Andrew Landry too.

Prayers for his family. I'll miss his weekly golf reports, and I'll miss seeing him around, out at the Babe.

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever.  -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
