RJ is in uncharted waters

Roschon has made some great impressions in his first year at the helm of the PNG offense. So much so that he is currently considered the #1 dual threat QB in the nation for the c/o 2019. I don't think its a stretch to say that PNG has NEVER had a player this highly rated. It was a pleasure to watch RJ play this year, I can't wait to see what the next 2 years holds for PNG football, and I definitely can't wait to see what RJ's football future holds beyond the purple and white.

Jeff "The Jet" Bergeron was highly recruited. I'm not sure about his sophmore season, but during his junior and senior seasons he was a big-time RB and all of the schools wanted him. Happy for RJ. He has a bright future at PN-G and beyond. He is only going to get better and better reading defenses, taking whatever the defense gives him, and throwing lasers all over the field. Imagine RJ throwing to a speedy slot receiver like Jalali (spelling?) from a few years ago or like Sparks from a few seasons ago. If RJ has a speedy slot WR and a downfield threat like Riggs, plus a few good possession WRs in the mix, and all of the RB talent we have coming back and up through the ranks, then he will light up the record books and Indian Fan will be busy updating the website every week. Here's to a good off season for all the kids. The next few years should be fun.

Go Indians. Peace.

Bergeron was also highly rated at the national level and, despite some setbacks, was drafted by Seattle in the late rounds of the 1978 draft. He only played 30 games during his high school career as the Indians didn't reach the playoffs during his PNG career.

There have been a few other highly successful Indians who excelled in college and the NFL.

But none of that history defines or limits Roschon Johnson. He very well may end up surpassing all prior records and achievements and being recognized along with the great football players from PNG's past.

And it will sure be an exciting two years while he's here, and watching him play on Saturdays, and Sundays.

Yes, Jeff Bergeron was named to several All-American teams including Parade (Tony Dorsett was also on the Parade team that year). Bergeron was the #1 blue chip recruit in Texas in 1972. He had offers from every major college in the country.

Bergeron was just as impressive as a running back. If you transport him from the past to 2016, he would be the fastest player on the team.

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever.  -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
