Roschon drafted by the Bears in the fourth round.
They never gave Dustin a chance. Hopefully this will not be the case with RJ. Too bad he is stuck with a bad team, and too bad we will not have the chance to see many of his games. In any case, provided they give him the chance to play I am now officially a Bears fan. If not, I am now officially a Bears hater.Great accomplishment. The first PN-G grad to make it to the NFL probably since Robert Giblin. Dustin Long made it to NFL Europe but not to the big dance.
The answer to your question is right hereSo, how does this work? Do all of the Rookies get paid the same, regardless of the pick, then they negotiate come contract time? at my age, you'd think that I would know this. LOL
Only 1st round picks has a 5th year optionYou can read about it. But to summarize what I discovered, the compensation is aligned with the spot picked. You play out your rookie contract, be offered a fifth year and hope to hit it big with your next contract if you’re good enough. Either through free agency or an offer from your current team. Zeke Elliot for example. He was offered a $90 million contract to stay with Dallas after fulfilling his rookie contract. That turned out to be a bust for Dallas but that’s another story.
Right. Was speaking in general terms.Only 1st round picks has a 5th year option

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever. -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
