Coach Ethridge's version of the slot-T used multiple I-formations, A-formations with motion, and a few other sets. The mid-seventies Indians had a strong run game with dives, misdirection, and pitching the ball outside with blockers in front. Another thing that I remember about Coach Ethridge's offenses, unlike the LH and Vidor versions, is that Coach Ethridge's OCs would sling the ball downfield. The TE, swingman, and RBs out of the backfield were passing threats and Richy Ethridge could throw it all over the yard. Richy Ethridge could sling it 10 times a game. VIdor may not throw the football 10 times the entire season. Not sure about LH, but the one video I watched, there was 1 pass?

Although they rarely do it, we need to be aware of the possibility. I think I recall them completing some big passes against Crosby in one or more of the playoff games. Still, as I have noted previously, I think that for the most part if we stop or significantly curtail their running game and play mistake free football for 4 full quarters we win the game.
