I know we are all excited by the coaching changes, but us old timers remember well the quiet confidence of coaches, players, fans of the 70's. Correct me if I am wrong, but we let our actions on and off the field speak for us, rather than our mouths. This first year, I just hope we don't overload our rear ends with too much talking. Go Indians!

Hear you loud and clear. We played a lot of teams that were bigger, faster, stronger, and heavily favored to win.
And the Indians methodically kicked their ***. Several opposing coaches commented afterwards on how machine like and perfect those Indian teams played. The new era teams have to get back to that.

You are SO right. I hope the entire school gets into it like we did in the 70's. Heck, I mean the entire community, too. I look over the pictures, newspaper stories, and memories and remember what a great time it was for everyone. Those students learned that you don't need chemicals to have the time of your life--one that you will remember until you die. I'm getting up there in age and all I ask for is one more state championship before I die---although I'll certainly take more than one.

Hopefully, if we do open our mouths, they won't be able to hear us over the LOUD sound of Cherokee. ;)

Just kidding. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm confident in Coach Faircloth, the other new coaches, and their abilities, but it's probably not a good idea to put too much pressure and place too many expectations on what is essentially a brand new program.

By the way, I like the Roosevelt quote. That really fits this thread.
