My son's surgery went great. Cleaned up the bone area in his shoulder and cleaned up a partial ligament fray and tear. No Ligament repair needed as of now. Doc said he could be in full pads and hitting within 2 months. He had the surgery this Wednesday and he starts PT today. So he will be up and ready for Summer workouts at power house. I am going to have Jeremy at Power house do most of his shoulder rehab starting in 3 weeks.
On another note, they have moved Mangini back to D. End for next year. So looks like our D line is gonna be a very good size. Probably average around 220-230 across the front. The other D end spot is gonna be a fight between 2 players. Both of whom are strong and quick and very aggressive. Look for great things from our D next year. Should be one of the better ones we have had in a while. The defense is loaded with speed and hard hitters.

Great info. Thanks. And good luck to your son. We'll keep him in our prayers.

Just a few thoughts from watching the first half.

The O-Line is big. Reasons at LT looks the part and played with some aggression. None of the RB's stood out to me but they all ran hard. Chipman is a big target and will be a handful. AJ Smith looks the part but needs to continue working hard on his accuracy and touch. He tended to lock on to one WR. The freshman Walker was impressive. He was very accurate on the run and showed some athleticism moving around the pocket. When he first came out he looked tiny but played big and has a really good arm.

On defense it seemed the kids were swarming to the ball and rarely missed any tackles. There was not a lot of size so making tackles and playing good assignment defense will be important.

So in my opinion I see a team that should be no worse than a 4th place finisher but is capable of a higher finish with a healthy defense and solid QB play.

Your 2 biggest D linemen did not play in the game.

I know, but Peveto is 6' 2" maybe pushing 6'3" and he was by far the tallest kid out there. There did not look to be another kid over 6' on the starting defense. I know your kid and Mangini will add some size but there is still not a lot of size outside of that. I know that does not mean everything. I was just giving my visual description.

Hopefully coaching, game planning, technique and quickness will make up for lack of size. Like in the old days.

your right, this defense overall is very fast and very quick. Your D line is averaging 5.0 or faster in their 40 speed. Their pro shuttles are just amazing ! Very fast off the ball. I think we should have a very good D next year. We look like we will have a very balanced team overall between the O and the D. After this groups freshman season they have all grown and matured tremendously. They push each other and work together as a team. Some very strong leaders on this team. They have what it takes to make a great season.
