Stadiums

I've been tinkering round with a mapping SDK and using various map points. For fun I captured a satellite view of a couple of local stadiums. (It's a boring offseason day with nothing else to do but work and study.) So here is a stadium comparison for all of us crazed Mid-County football fans..

The next time a Bulldog fan criticizes the visitors seating at Indian Stadium, keep this image in mind. Photos are a matching scale. Visitor seating is pretty much equal, and their home seating is not much larger.

The one fix needed at Indian Stadium is to rework that aisle that ends nowhere forcing fans to climb over seats.

Any printed material with a breakdown of the seating capacity?

Thanks.

GUESS —- I’d say Nederland visitor side seats about 2-400 more. Max 500. Just eyeballing it and seeing both stadiums and sitting in visitor side of both.

About as close as you can get on the visitor’s side. Something I’ve learned about the Golden Triangle which might on the surface sound bad but has lots of good things to it as well. If there is something not right a GT person will let you know about it. Even if just perceived. (And usually tilted toward one end) You could call it griping or you could call it quality control lol. So the MCM is the “gripe bowl” lol. And that doesn’t bother me one bit. Haha. That same mentality keeps the plants safer and students on the straight and narrow. Also holds down traditions that might be set aside in a less stringent community. My two cents. Haha. I heard it when sitting on the WOS side of games as well. All the ref calls were against them (more than most fan bases) nothing was fair on their end. But that’s me reason GT teams overachieve IMO. Summary: take Ned gripes with 12 grains of salt.

Here’s some perspective. CLEAR CREEK ISD brand new stadium seats 10k and both sides are basically exactly equal since a majority of their district games are same ISD opponents. (Your team will play two games a year in that stadium as visitor) so visitor side 5k basically the same as Reservation visitor side. CCISD challenger stadium is home to 5 6A teams. If Ned stadium is EQUAL on both sides it seats 5.5 K on visitor side.

My guess...

Indian Stadium
Home - 8000
Visitor- 5000

Bulldog Stadium
Home - 6000
Visitor - 5000

Plus the leg room is better/greater on the home side of Indian Stadium.

Bulldogs have not been blessed with the same fervor for it's football team. They have struggled to fill 5,500 seats in playoff games during some of their best years. I witnessed that by driving by a playoff game down the road from me at Berry Center. But to be fair, Port Neches+ Groves population is greater. 28,500 vs 17,500.

i Was at that Berry Center game vs Georgetown the parking attendant said it was their best crowd of the season. Haha. So compared to other small communities Nederland does great. PNG is just better. My hometown 5A school does good to get 2000 there at home games.

They do ok. Point is all the ‘barking’ about needing large venues to hold their crowd isn’t substantiated.
