Sad to see him coaching middle school. But as long as he’s happy that’s all that matters.

MB remains the quintessential PNG Indian.

He coached Varsity until recently at LCM Now does Middle School football and Adaptive PE for Life Skills kids . I talked to him a while back and he said he really enjoyed it and it was fulfilling.
Matt retired and sold Real Estate for a year then went to LCM. He draws full TRS retirement and full teacher/coaching pay .

Lots of Burnett haters are laughing. They dont know the Matt that loves kids and enjoys helping people.

No accident that he is in a few Hall of Fame groups LU, SETCA, etc...

Most are really pissed because Matt didn't play them or their son, etc...

I don’t think there are any MB haters. Hate should not even be a thought for any Indian fan regarding MB or BF. MB is a good man, a good coach and a good rep of PNG. To use the Tom Landry analogy, no one hated Landry or wished him anything other than thanks for the legacy he built. But expectations were high and results were not what was expected. So many fans wanted that to improve and voiced that opinion. And so changes happened.

I have always thought it was extremely sad that so many people reacted the way they did when Faircloth was hired and during his early tenure. Many resented the change, and still do even though results from the ‘new’ coach and AD were and remain very positive. It’s a very poor reflection on what PNG is about. Something that any potential future coaches notice and consider.
