Support grows for injured PNG football player Noah Jackson

Kickoffs and punts are two of the most potentially dangerous plays in the sport. The greater velocity of the impact, both blocks and tackles increases the risk. Maybe it's time for the game to change and eliminate that part of the game. At least the kickoff. What do you think?

IndianFan - I hear what you are saying. I still vote to keep kickoffs and punts as part of the game. I feel terrible that #41 Noah Jackson suffered injuries on a kickoff/kick return. I'm sending him good vibes and wishing him a full recovery.

Maybe change the rules about head-to-head contact on kickoffs? No blocks above the neck? I do not know what the answers might be to avoid injuries.

I still want to keep the kicking game as part of the overall game. Big plays happen on kickoffs, kick returns, onside kicks, punt blocks, punt returns, and fake punts. I would be disappointed to see the kicking game go away.

Good discussion. I hope others chime in. Here's to #41 getting back stronger than ever! Go Indians...Go Noah Jackson #41!

I agree with all the above - however, it wasn’t on a kickoff when he suffered the injury. I was at the game and it was actually on a two-point conversion attempt by the other team…unless I missed something, which is possible.
