The next PNGISD Schoolboard mtg. is this coming Monday evening... the 13th. Last night, at the Quarterback mtg., Coach Faircloth implied that he could use "A LOT" of support from us fans. He did not elaborate, but he did indicate that this would be a "good" meeting.

I'll be there.

And, I hope that some of you faithful will also attend. :welcome:

The QB mtg. will likely be held on Tuesday next week.

I think it's important that the constituents attend, to see how each SB member reacts/votes/opposes any sports related ideas. ;)

Show up in numbers on Monday night. Listen to what is said and by whom. Bring a friend, pack the room at the West Groves Educational Building.

 When will construction start?

I'm not sure. It sounded like they still needed more money, but that we have enough to start preliminary stuff (soil testing, site survey, etc.). I can't even begin to describe how impressed I am with the PNG community! It speaks volumes that we have come together to do this for our students. Two families have made significant contributions to get the project started, and I hope they are recognized in some way when the facility is built.

am I correct in that we have 120,000 from BC and 250,000 from 2 donors, for a total of 370,000.

how much is the total cost of construction? Seems like I recall a 1.2 million dollar figure plus yearly/monthly expenses like insurance, a/c, elect., custodial, etc...

I can't hit that hard (6 figures) but would it be realistic to sell plaques/bricks like the PN Tugboat Island? say make it $500/$1,000 increments? 500 people at 1,000 each is 500,000 + 370,000 = $850,000ish.

If it takes a year to raise the difference, then another year or so to let out for bid, build, etc... could be ready for the 2016/17 season.

From what I understood the district will contribute 150k towards the project.
thanks, so we have $370,000 toward building construction. I had a letter I received that stated the sq.ft. was about 31,000 sq.ft. So @ $50 per sq.ft. = about $1,500,000 or a difference of $1,000,000 or so.

how much are the annual cost for insurance, electricity, custodial, etc...projected to be?

I know that is a lot of money BUT other Districts have this type of facility and if all groups can use it, it's a no brainer to me.

I'm ready to purchase a brick or plaque, etc. That's a great idea to get family names involved. A small way to leave a legacy in support of the community and district.
