Good luck to Wade Phillips and the LA Rams today.

I wonder if Coach Faircloth scores tickets to the game?

This is a premature thought, but someday, some sports facility at PN-G should be named after the Phillips Family to honor the great heritage and history they represent.

Ideally it would have been a 75-100 yard, enclosed all-sports and student activity building.

And I still say that the small parcel of land at the end of the new school wing is the ideal spot.

But we all know that the financial backing for that is difficult. It could have been a grass roots effort of 10,000 x $500 gifts, or 20,000 x $250 gifts to raise a substantial chunk of the money, but even that is a financial burden or impossibility for many to contribute.

But some form of community effort, plus local business contributions, plus an alumnus campaign, plus a creative advertising offer to local businesses that contributed, plus the large base donations that were made at the time could have built such a facility.

It could have been named something like the Bum and Wade Phillips Sports Center.

And if that had been proposed, maybe, just maybe a very successful and well compensated NFL coach, and former PN-G player by the name of Wade Phillips might have helped it all become a reality.

Good luck To Coach Phillips, Son of Bum, on adding to the Phillips family football legacy today. Beat the Patriots, defense wins championships.

And God Bless Port Neches-Groves High School and its communities. Always Be Faithful to God, Family, Country, and Purple and White.

Wade's defense did its job on Sunday. They just couldn't get any support from the offensive side of the ball. Sometimes that's just the way it is.
