Last Night at the Region 10 UIL Marching Competition hosted at our stadium about 40-50 "Bruin" football players showed up in their jerseys to support their band's performance. Awesome! In case you missed it... The PNG "Purple Pride Band" got straight 1's...again. See everyone Friday... hopefully it's a packed house for the football game.

It would take very little for our football team to support the band on that 1 important day. I'd love to see it.
Wouldn't the games be empty without that Purple Pride Band in the stands???

And the parents that support the band. The stands wouldn't be near as full at away games.

Nothing against our band because they are the best around. But, if it wasn't for football they would not have a place to play with as many to watch them.

Community and student support is important.

You’d be surprised how much support some of these Houston area schools have. Even the new schools.

I’m a frequent game attendee of Cy-Fair ISD’s new flagship high school. Amazing support, and even more amazing equipment. They spare no expense here. Terrific band boosters.

I have ZERO doubt that every student, group, club, and organization that participates under the Friday Night Lights has the upmost respect and appreciation for each other! That is what makes PNG so special and different than a lot of other schools! Our bands kids are HIGHLY admired, supported, and accepted by their peers...not the case everywhere! And, the band kids have the same admiration and respect for the football team/athletes! Thankfully, the terms “band nerd” and “dumb jock” are just not something our kids hear at PNG! There’s always been a “culture” and Tradition of mutual respect amongst the various student organizations so because of that, I don’t think the band has ever felt slighted or unsupported if the football players aren’t in the stands for Marching Contest. As a former Indian Band member, I can pretty much promise who is/isn’t in the stands is the furthest thing on their minds during contests...lol! But, with that being said, now that I’m a band parent, I do think the football team and all students, especially those who participate in some form on Fri Nights should be expected/encouraged to attend if at all possible cause seeing those WB boys in their jerseys giving up a Sat night to support their band was a refreshing sight to see, especially in this day and age! Heck, I remember back in my HS days, some teachers/coaches offered extra credit to anyone that attended Marching Contest and various other student competitions. School is ALOT harder now so I’m sure they can use all the help they can get and it’s a win win for everyone!

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever.  -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
