As a young boy attending a 1975 playoff game in Texas Stadium with about 23,000 fans we watched a Port Neches Groves Indian team beat an Odessa Permian team 20 to 10 to win a state championship. There were supposidly several all american players on the odessa team. Many said we were out classed your from podunk Port Neches! But to this day I remember leaving the stadium that day and seeing about six or seven men at the gates in suits long dress coats and fidora hats counting 100 dollar bills. Yes I did a double take and asked my friend if he had seen the same thing and he did. What did these men see that day?Winners yes winners who believed in themselves and there coaches,Players that did not let people that said you can't get in the way of there goals. This is just my way of referencing what I see in this 2010 Indian team.I see a team that never gives up plays with class and displays a heart of a champion and fans that always make it a home team advantage. What do you see?

In 2010, I've seen the Indians play 3x. I saw a team make great improvement from Aug. to Nov. I've seen a dominant OL, a very good QB that can play at the college level, a young RB running as hard as he possibly can, WRs setting records, and an evolving defense that continues to get better with leaders emerging at DL and DB. I've seen a coaching staff create and build a winning team. I hope I see an Indian team that continues its roll to a state championship. Win or lose, I've seen a great PN-G Indian team, great coaches, and great fans supporting PN-G students. I only see the good. Life is too short to be negative.

Go Indians. Peace.

I was on that 75 state team. We were picked to lose the game. 2 fatal errors OP made in the first quarter. An interception and score by us and a kick off return for a touchdown put us ahead by 14 pts. OP just couldnt recover from those errors. I have relived those games that season for 35 yrs. with pride. We we not the biggest or the fastest but WE BELIEVED! These boys need to stay focused and play with intensity and heart and give all that they have because they too will remember this season for the rest of their lives. I promise you that. :helmet:

I see passion, purpose, determination, desire, heart, and a work ethic second to none! No matter what the final outcome--this group of Indians has given us a very special season. I really think that it is going to continue and we will all be a part of a season to remeber!!

To say this in a simple manner, I see the Port Neches-Groves Indians. That says it all. I also see an opportunity to re-live past seasons that were great and to envision future great seasons. In other words, I see a chance to re-live the past when we were young and a chance to hope for future seasons when being infirm or in a wheelchair will not keep us away from our beloved PNG Indians. God bless our players, coaches and fans.

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever.  -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
