I was posed this question and after some consideration was surprised with what I decided. I then asked 5 different people and oddly enough all came up with the same answer. What do you think.

I think it depends on how you phrase the question.

Toughest overall? SOC.
Toughest defense? Also SOC, but Huntsville is a close second.
Toughest offense? Lake Creek.
Toughest special teams? Liberty Hill.
Toughest ticket sales? Also Liberty Hill. ;)

The most “professional” as in well coached
LC ;best QB/RB tandem (best punter)
overachievers (surprise) Huntsville
Overachievers play style LH (I wish we had a “slot T team” similar to special teams (could be the KO coverage team) (I love the slot T)
Team we had to play a near perfect game (because of “factors” (PC) SOC
Surprising first half struggle Brenham
Surprised they weren’t tougher LR
The one we almost threw away
Tie LH and LC

I was asked this question and went straight to SOC. The person asked me if we had not won against MLC did I think they would have beat SOC.

Something to remember about the MLC game. We were up 23-7 at halftime. The play-calling got much more conservative after that, resulting in a more even score. In reality, we could have beaten them by much more than we did.

SOC was tough but we also left at least 7 to 11+ points on the field due to a dropped pass in the end zone, an underthrown pass on the goal line and an offsides penalty inside the 1. Without those miscues they probably don’t stop us on 3 more TD scores. Instead we took the 3 points each time. 27-17 or 31-17 was not a stretch.

Lake Creek, Huntsville and Liberty Hill were all equally tough in different ways. But take nothing away from SOC, they had their moments but not enough. They didn’t have the best offense we faced and their defense was good in spots but not great and if not for our mistakes we wouldn’t even be saying that.

But I don’t know that any of those teams could have beaten SOC so maybe they were the toughest opponent.

I think they were the most dangerous for us
And they cheat let’s just come out and say it.
They push the boundaries of the rules to the tip edge of what’s “legal”
There was more than one holding on 80% Of their offensive plays
