I have been keeping up with the boys as I have several friends whose kids are on the team. I never thought I would be cheering for Nederland but here goes. Good Luck MC Babe Ruth Allstars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you win the game today.

The name of the team may be Nederland but there are at least 5 PNG players on the team. Plus the manager is from PNG.
The "Nederland" team just won the 4th game in pool play 6-2. That means they came in 2nd in their division and will continue playing.

The "Nederland" Babe Ruth team just beat RI 3-2 in a very good game and will play tomorrow night (Thursday) at approx 9:35pm our time. There are only 4 teams left and if they win Thursday they will play Friday for the championship! Good Luck guys!

Well, it's over for the 15 Year Old Babe Ruth all stars from "Nederland". They lost 6-2 to the team from Florida who won the 14 Year Old World Series last year. But our guys did great - came in 3rd. That is a heck of lot better than a whole lot of other teams in this country! We are proud of them.

I talked with one of the boys from the team this morning, he was so upset. I told him that they did their best and that 3rd place out of every team in the United States wasn't shabby. I also told him that many people were very proud of them.


Way to go MC Babe Ruth Allstars!!!!!! You made Mid County proud.

Not to take away from the great accomplishments of the team, but why is the team labeled as Nederland? If it's a combined squad with PN and Groves players, it should be labeled as Mid-County. Or if it's a team from the entire area, call it Southeast Texas.

Because it is Nederland Babe Ruth, they are the only league in the area. The boys from PN didn't mind being called Nederland.

I agree. My "significant other" used to coach PN Babe Ruth and someone decided to join Nederland. As for the boys, some tell me that while they have friends from Nederland, they'd rather be the Port Neches Babe Ruth any day or even the Mid-County Babe Ruth which was what is was supposed to be to begin with.
