Montgomery Lake Creek 09-26-25 Start of District

I don’t know
To me they had a massive OL some fierce LBs
Top level RB QB and maybe the best pro level punter I’ve seen at HS level
I believe having to travel to TXK first round of the playoffs (losing) then running into us at CE King thwarted big plans on Lake Conroe (remember they were ranked number one in the state when we beat them)
Huge mixture of multi millionaires and rednecks of Montgomery county (not named Montgomery for nothing) got demoralized three years in a row. Montgomery Bears are going to be strong this year less kids claiming the lake house as their residence this year maybe

Does anyone know where to view full games for LC for this season? I’ve found nothing on Texan Live or YouTube. I’ve only found short highlight videos.

I had no idea - I always assume TAPPS if I see religious names
There’s a couple more
The “Life” schools (Waxahatchie, Oak Cliff, one in Palestine etc a few more) they play in UIL but have to go minimum one classification higher
For years it was only the Jesuit schools we used to play Dallas Jesuit every year seemed like. Some of the TAPPS are no joke Prestonwood and Libery Christian (Argyle) can compete with most 5-6A schools.

MLC’s biggest strength is its o-line, which in high school ball might be more important than a good qb. They’re not going to roll over, and they have us in their house. They want revenge for the last two meetings, their first win over PNG in school history, and to prove the last two were flukes. They’re going to be amped. And, for all he’s been criticized, they have a good coach. He’s solid teaching fundamentals, they’ve tended to be good tacklers in his tenure, and I don’t know that conditioning has ever been a problem for them. They only lost three district games last year and two of them were by one score. They were only one play away from beating us. So, even if they don’t seem quite as potent as in the past it’s all relative and last year’s MCM is a painful reminder that being “better” is only on paper until you’ve proven it on the field. We’ve got a lion by the tail, and better go into it like it’s the district championship.

All of that being said, all we have to go off is records to-date and whatever limited game film we have. That shows me a struggling defense and an offense that (though it can find opportunities) is more limited than the last two years. I’m comfortable predicting a 35-17 PNG win.

I’m hoping to be able to attend in-person, but that depends on work schedule. Two hours away isn’t easy with a 9-5. Go Indians.

I'll add my two cents. They don't seem to be Lake Creek of years past. D-Line is a little light in the seat, all are probably at least 6'2" but I would be shocked if any of them weigh over 230 maybe 240. O-line is big but seem to have slow feet, if that make sense, not a lot of finesse, just sort of fire off and lean on you. Odd defensive formation, almost appears to be a 3-3-5? QB has good awareness and decent legs to get away from pressure. Running back runs tall, but runs strong, will take more than arm tackle. As always, any team can be dangerous, but I would take the 22 point spread on this one. I just don't see anywhere that they have an edge over us. Hope everyone stays healthy and travels safe. If we keep playing like we did in preseason this should be a pretty one-sided affair in my opinion.

That’s where I land. I’m having trouble identifying anything they do that we haven’t normally stopped this season, and anything we do that they have normally stopped this season.

That doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a blowout. Against Huntsville in 2023 I had the same analysis: I couldn’t see anything they did that we couldn’t counter, and they hadn’t shown an ability to consistently counter what we did. We still only beat them by 10.

In this case, MLC isn’t nearly as good as Huntsville was in 2023. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hold them to 7 until garbage time. It feels like bad juju to go into it that confident, and I’m not changing my 35-17 prediction, but the strength disparity is hard to ignore.
